What is (Jolly) Phonics?

Jolly Phonics is a curriculum from UK.

Phonics is the study of sound or a method 8of teaching reading. This means that we teach letter sounds as opposed to the alphabets itself.  It’s a fun and multi-sensory synthetic phonics method that gets children reading and writing from an early age.

Why Phonics?

Phonics instruction plays a key role in helping students comprehend text. It helps the student map sounds and the 42 letter sounds are phonic building blocks that children, with the right tools, use to decode the English language. Decoding words aids in the development of word recognition with correct pronunciation.
